At Erste Group, more than 45,000 employees strive to provide our customers with the best banking advice and services each and every day. Our commitment to excellence in Austria and CEE has earned us numerous “best bank” awards from a wide range of prestigious banking industry publications and institutions, including The Banker and Mastercard.

In addition, Euromoney awarded Erste Group the title of “Best Bank in Central and Eastern Europe”. The esteemed industry publication also honoured Erste Bank Oesterreich as both “Best Bank” and “Best Digital Bank”, and recognised our subsidiary banks in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania for their outstanding performance.

We are also very pleased that the Austrian market research company ÖGVS recognised our customer-centric advice and exceptional services by selecting Erste Bank Oesterreich for its 2024 Service Award. The high level of trust our customers place in us is also reflected in the 2024 market studies conducted by Brandfinance which named us the strongest brand in Austria.

We have always seen it as our task to help people in our region pursue prosperity. By doing so, we aim to contribute to a future worth living. Our Group-wide efforts to support sustainability initiatives and promote diversity have been honoured with numerous awards.

We support sustainable financing

At the 17th Vienna Stock Exchange Awards, Erste Group was honoured with the VÖNIX sustainability award for its sustainable finance offerings and activities for issuers and investors, which always take ESG factors into account. VÖNIX is the Vienna Stock Exchange’s sustainability index and has been calculated since 2005.

Social engagement is a priority for us

Over the past 18 years, thanks to the dedication of its exclusively volunteer workforce, Zweite Sparkasse has reached over 24,400 customers, with more than 10,000 of them successfully navigating their way to a stable financial situation. We are very pleased that our commitment to social engagement was distinguished with 3^rd place in the “inclusion” category of the Austrian State Prize.

Our commitment to excellence in private banking has once more been recognised by The Banker, which named us “Best Private Bank in Central and Eastern Europe” for the eleventh consecutive time and also selected us as “Best Private Bank in Austria”. 

Erste Private Banking has also achieved significant recognition from Euromoney, securing three “Best Bank” awards: in addition to the title “Best Domestic Private Bank” in Austria, Erste Private Banking was also recognised as “Best for Discretionary Portfolio Management” and “Best for High Net Worth Individuals”.

With a diverse range of investment funds, from green and more conservative options to those with a dynamic, international focus, Erste Asset Management (EAM) offers a variety of award-winning investment opportunities that match the individual saver’s specific risk appetite and interests.

Erste Asset Management secured an impressive 15 awards at the Austrian Fund of Funds Award 2024 sponsored by GELD magazine. The winners are ERSTE REAL ASSETS, an asset fund, and RT Optimum § 14, a mixed fund suitable for covering pension provisions with securities.

Sustainability is a key priority for us, which has earned us the recognition of the Forum for Sustainable Investments (FNG) for our ethical funds. We are very pleased that ERSTE GREEN INVEST MIX, a sustainable mixed fund issued in Germany in 2024, has been honoured with its first award.

Our asset managers’ dedication to sustainable and responsible investing is also reflected in this year’s reporting from the United Nations’ Principles for Responsible Investing (PRI), achieving the highest-possible rating of three stars.
